Justine has been Allens’ Head of Knowledge since September 2006, having previously worked as the knowledge management lawyer role for superannuation, funds management and financial services.
As Head of Knowledge (and in conjunction with the Chief Knowledge Officer, Rachel O’Connor), Justine is responsible for setting the knowledge management agenda for Allens and has directed and been responsible for the implementation of many of Allens’ knowledge initiatives and achievements. One of her current projects is implementing document automation.
Justine has a unique perspective on knowledge services, having worked in a number of roles in the legal industry, including:
• lawyer and senior associate – practising in a range of areas, including insolvency, M&A, superannuation, trusts and tax at Allens Arthur Robinson (predecessor firm of Allens);
• as a client – as compliance officer/legal counsel at Potter Warburg/Swiss Bank (predecessor to UBS) for three years; and
• as a regulator – while on secondment to the Victorian Corporate Affairs Office (a State predecessor to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission).
Justine’s skills have helped the knowledge services team provide a focused and valued service to Allens’ internal and external clients and have helped the team meet the many challenges faced in a knowledge support role.
